Pictures are of Jane Andrews receiving certificates and trophies from judges Tessa Polniaszek, Kate Swan and Alan Moore on behalf of David Knowles.

I’m pleased to report that David Knowles’ film Rainbow Living won the Ray Toleman Memorial Trophy for the Best Film at the Gloucester Inter-Club competition and also received the Vale Sound Trophy for the best sound.

There were five entries for the competition – the others from Cheltenham, Tewkesbury, Worcester and Gloucester including documentaries about the Zion National Park in Utah, how a wooden floor is created and a comparison of the SS Great Britain and a modern luxury liner. Also a short film about Clouds set to words and music.

The judges felt however that David’s film had a great message and captured the personality of the people and that overall it worked brilliantly for the charity. They also felt in awarding the best sound that the sound was very consistent and worked well.

I attended the event with Julian, Peter and Steve from the Bristol club and although David was unable to be there I was happy to receive the award on his behalf – although I have to say that the main trophy was one of the heaviest I’ve come across!
